Questions about manicure
How do I choose which salon in Barcelona to have a manicure?
Nowadays in Barcelona there are hundreds of nail salons where you can get a manicure or pedicure. But how to choose the best one? We tell you here.
What is a babyboomer?
Also called French ombré or French fade, baby boomer nails are a new take on the traditional French manicure. Find out about all the different types of babyboomer in this post.
How long does semi-permanent nail polish last?
The average duration of semi-permanent nail polish varies from person to person as it depends on the growth of the nail and the use that each person gives to their hands, if they carry out rough activities with their hands or if they use chemical products without gloves. It usually lasts from 15 to 20 days.
Does the lathe weaken the nail?
The drill only weakens the nail if a bad practice is made and the professional does not have the necessary technique and experience. The drill has different weights of burs and different materials, each one indicated for a specific use. Read more nail myths here.
Should nails be left to rest from semi-permanent nail polish?
While it is true that not everyone's nails weaken, if this is your case, it wouldn't be a bad idea to rest for 14 days when you see that they are weakening. But resting your nails does not mean neglecting your manicure. The ideal is to do a removal, manicure without nail polish, and apply a strengthener until the next manicure.
My nails break, what do I do?
There are many causes of splitting nails. The most common is usually genetics. Both a very soft nail and a very hard nail can split. What makes a nail less brittle is flexibility. You can add the extra "weak nail strengthener" to your manicure.
How can I remove my semi-permanent nail polish?
Semi-permanent nail polish can be removed in different ways by a professional nail polish remover. To remove it at home, the ideal way is to file the surface of the nail polish to leave it matte, soak a thin cotton ball in pure acetone, put it so that it covers the whole nail plate and wrap it with aluminium foil. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes and when you take it out of the acetone you will see that it has lifted. With an orange stick or a metal pusher you remove it. If there is any residue, you can repeat the process.
